London

We had a very lazy start to the day - barely out of bed before lunchtime. We stayed around Islington and had a good look at some of the shops and the people promenading. It’s a very fashionable area. We met a friend, Nicholas and his baby Max, for lunch at Carluccio’s which I’m sure we have mentioned before – a chain of Italian restaurants that are very dependable for reasonable quality food at a reasonable price. They do a very decadent hot chocolate where they give you a small jug of melted chocolate, a small jug of espresso coffee and a small jug of cream. You then mix them in whichever proportions you see fit. It’s very very good. In the evening we went to one of Stanley’s friends for drinks. We have probably mentioned him before – Gordon from Gore. He served very liberal amount of whiskey and I for one came home feeling a bit sozzled hence why this blog was not written yesterday.
