We've been a bit slack on the blog. Sorry! Here's a brief summary of what's happened since Hong Kong
Tuesday
1) Arrived in London Tuesday morning
2) Navigated public transport to arrive at our friend Stanley's in Islington
3) Explored Islington with Stanley. Mark bumped into someone he knew!!!
4) Lovely meal with Stanley and then early to bed
Wednesday
1) Caught bus into Westend
2) Croissant and coffee at Maison Berteaux
3) Matinee performance of Les Miserables (Damian)
4) Evening performance of Hairspray (Damian). Evening performance of Electra (Mark)
5) Supreme feat of navigation on Mark's part to meet up after our respective shows and catch the bus home. (very difficult in the dark with no map in an unfamiliar city)
Thursday
1) Fantastic sale at Gieves and Hawkes. Spent 2 hours rummaging through sales racks. Bought 4 pair of pants, 3 shirts, 1 jacket, and 2 pairs of boxer shorts
2) Lunch at Carluccio's (of Antonio fame) - very very nice! Pork Belly and slow braised savoy cabbage, Penne thingy with lots of garlic - good! Fast prompt service
3) Trip to the tailor to get trousers shortened (short-leg syndrome) 10 pounds a pair - !!!!
4) Evening performance of Lion King (Damian - didn't enjoy it very much I'm afraid). Walked down to Thames and saw Big Ben and St Paul's in the distance. Evening performance of Robert Holl and Andreas Schiff of lieder at Wigmore Hall (Mark enjoyed it quite a lot I think)
