London: Tate Britain and Tate Modern

Today we check out Tate Britain and Tate Modern. Tate Britain has British art from the 1500s onwards. It’s enormous and you really need more than a day to look around everything. We just looked half of one floor. There were some great works showing London in years gone by and I was struck by a large work showing Westminster Abbey surrounded by fields and farmlands. Tate Modern is on the South Bank and is housed in an old Power station. Again, there’s too much to see in one day and we had a very rushed look around. In the evening we went to St Paul’s Cathedral for Evensong before having a quiet evening at home
