London: Goodenough House

On Tuesday we said farewell to Stanley and moved into Goodenough House. Goodenough House is an international hall of residence of postgraduate students studying in London. When people are away on holiday you can sub-let their rooms. Friends of ours, Nick and Miriam, have lived here for 2 years and were able to get us a self-contained apartment for our final week in London. Accommodation is very expensive in London. For a 1-2 star place you’re looking at 100 pounds a night! The place we got was only 30 pounds a night. We had found a local pub and had our first pub lunch and a pint of ale. In the evening we caught up with Nick and Miriam, drank their champagne and ate pizza. Oh – and we met their new son, Max, whose 5 months old. Russell Square is very close and there are always squirrels to see. Very tame. I think Gus and Nina would like one for a pet
