London: Brown's Hotel and La Cage Aux Folles

Today we met Stanley for afternoon tea at Brown’s Hotel. It was a posh affair with a tiered serving platter of sandwiches, scones, and petit fours as well as your individual choice of tea and slices of sponge cake and fruit cake. Mark seemed particularly fond of the scones and our plate was replenished many times over. I’m not sure if it was the scones or the clotted cream and jam that they were served with that made them so moreish. We left feeling very stuffed. Outside it was dark and they were lighting the Christmas tree lights in the street. They were giving away roasted chestnuts and free mulled wine on the street corner. We had tickets to La Cage aux Folles which was great fun. Afterwards we went to a local bar for a beer. On another matter, Mark has put a deposit on a vespa on TradeMe so it looks like he will have transport as soon as we get back to Auckland. Still need to find somewhere to live
