London: Tower of London

Today we visited the Tower of London. We took a tour led by a Beefeater. I still don’t know why they’re called Beefeaters. He was ex-army and shouted a lot. The tour was good but only covered a small portion of the Towers. There are actually 20 towers in the whole fortress. It also contains a chapel, a doctor’s office and a few museums of armour and weapons. We also saw the crown jewels! Are they fake? For lunch we had pie and mash with mushy peas. In the evening we had an early dinner at the Goodenough House dining hall. Mark and Nick went to Prokfiev’s Rome and Juliet at the Barbican. I went to Blood Brothers. It’s been running for over 20 years and it’s such a simple musical but it was very good
